Introduction

pAstro is a PalmOS astrology software based on Swiss Ephemeris. The latest version is 1.9.1. (released by 16 Oct 2005)

I started to write this program just because I want to have an Astrolog-like program on my TH55 handheld. However, there's not too much of choices in Palm's world, especially I like to have beautiful high-resolution support.

This program currently supports calculations of my daily reading, and it helps me a lot when I don't have my PC in hand. I love it and I hope you enjoy it, I would like to hear more from you to improve it to fulfill most of the astrologers' needs.

  • Natal, synastry, transit, secondary progressed, solar arc, solar return, and composite charts.

Installation

  1. You need to prepare the following things before install pAstro:
    1. Palm shared double-precision math library: MathLib. You can download it from http://www.radiks.net/~rhuebner/mathlib.html.
    2. Swiss ephemeris files: You can download them from Astrodienst's FTP site: ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ . For calculation of charts from 1800AD to 2400AD, you need at least seas_18.se1, semo_18.se1, and sepl_18.se1.
    3. Copy the downloaded ephemeris files to your memory stick: \PALM\Program\pAstro\SWEPH. and insert it to your Palm device.
  2. Download the pAstro zip file.
  3. Hotsync the pAstro.prc to your handheld. If you have previous version (before 1.9.1) installed, remove it before you do this.
  4. Have fun!
